Pink Room is a visual-album and performance that reflects upon matters like the fact of being born queer in an island (Menorca). Thus, it deconstructs and subverts in its essence the idea of binary representation of gender and sexuality by encompassing local identity issues. It also dissects and depicts female stereotypes build and perpetuated by the patriarchy, all of them imposed on non-binary people. The visuals belong to the series of performances: Eva (2016), Danse Macabre (2013 – 2017), Venus (2015), Ophelia (2017), Pietà (2017), Salomé (2018) and Sodomita (2018) and Lazaret (2019).
Patterns is the debut album from Elsehow (singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Piero Delux). It’s a beautiful collection of original songs that range from art-pop through to synth pop, plus three covers of material by artists who Piero cites as major influences (Talk Talk, Brian Eno and Scott Walker). It’s an album ideal for the summer with lots of shifting, shimmering sounds and Piero’s plaintive vocals, but it’s definitely bittersweet with minor keys and songs of love and loss.
Almost Elegant features Manipulant’s trademark wonky melodic electronic pop, including the acclaimed single Wet Chicken, and features guest vocals from the legendary Lee “Scratch” Perry.
