Hanrath & Way – Prismatic Illusions CD
Wilfried Hanrath is a German multi-genre multi-instrumentalist, Gordon Way has been a sound and visual artist in Canada for more than 40 years. Teamed up by mutual friend Neal D. Retke for this project, they soon found their way to work together. Wilfried selected 7 of his compositions he had performed and recorded over the past three years from 2018 – 21 he thought suitable for a collaboration and sent them to Gordon with the permission to treat them just like he wanted. The result is an amazing blend of structures and textures woven into Wilfried´s tracks, ranging from the psychotic ranting of the first track, through dreamlike ambient to free jazz.

Luke Brennan – The Rush to the Sky CD
Luke Brennan is a composer and multi-instrumentalist from a seaside town called Bray in Wicklow, Ireland, now living in Hackney, east London. The Rush to the Sky comprises guitar, violin, organ, midi synth, field recordings and found sounds and was performed and constructed in both Bray and Hackney. The main inspiration came from one of the field recordings of swifts flying over Luke’s flat. He made that recording the year before and was finishing the piece a year later when those same birds were back flying overhead, giving a wonderful sense of place and time and of the season.SKU: SBCA068
hyacinth. – seasonal hits MC
For anyone who has not yet had the pleasure, hyacinth is a non-binary native artist living in Portland, Oregon. You may also know their work under the moniker qualchan (again, always lower case!) Last year when Covid hit, hyacinth’s partner lost their job and they relied on hyacinth’s artistic output to keep on top of the bills. In order to make the most of the Bandcamp Fridays, hyacinth launched a new seasonal EP every month. These EPs were released on the Peradam Tapes label as digital downloads. We’re very happy to collect these EPs together and present them as one conveniently cassette-sized cassette.SKU: SBCA093
Hypercube & UNIC6 – Binary Planet CD
A collage of hard glitch and bleeps from Hypercube (Rodrigo Passannanti) coupled with almost jazz-tinged acoustic wind and string instruments from UNIC6 (Frédéric Iriarte). It’s unapologetically experimental and work that demands your attention.SKU: SBCA035
Draaier – The Town That Was Murdered CD
The Town That Was Murdered is Draaier’s love/hate letter to their home town of Jarrow, an a homage to the book written by Red Ellen Wilkinson. Forgotten at best, actively dismantled at worst, Jarrow is a signifier of the treatment of Northern industrial towns. Pitch black in places but not without glimmers of hope, there is a violence and frustration that runs underneath the surface, a resentment at being ostracised.SKU: SBCA075
Goodparley – Canvas CD
Using a number of lilting, jazz-inflected chord progressions sampled on acoustic guitar by long-term collaborate Il Bradipo as a canvas, this is the most clearly structured Goodparley record to date. Collecting more expressive improvised guitar melodies and juxtaposing them with long-form drone pieces, this record contains wistfulness, nostalgia and moments of wonder. A more colourful palette than previous records, Canvas draws on the separate whimsical styles of F.S. Blumm and the lo-fi community, with sporadic bursts of experimental delay work explored on previous Goodparley releases. The guitar pieces here present a fractured memory space, whilst the ambients slip into the realm of dreams. Sometimes the two intersect and bridge, sometimes they stand apart, together. This is, of course, only one reading of the music within. This record is a canvas, not quite blank, presented to you with space for whatever you bring to it.SKU: SBCA066
