Draaier – The Town That Was Murdered CD
The Town That Was Murdered is Draaier’s love/hate letter to their home town of Jarrow, an a homage to the book written by Red Ellen Wilkinson. Forgotten at best, actively dismantled at worst, Jarrow is a signifier of the treatment of Northern industrial towns. Pitch black in places but not without glimmers of hope, there is a violence and frustration that runs underneath the surface, a resentment at being ostracised.

Stringmodulator – Manifesto CD
Stringmodulator is the brain-child of German musicians Jan Quednau (bass) and Fabian Chmielewski (guitar). Their shared love of electronica, krautrock and jazz is the basis for their experimental music on 10 strings. All sounds are made by guitar and bass. The title of their new album “Manifesto: Noises made by Guitar and Bass” says it all: all sounds are made by these two instruments (and effect pedals). The music was composed spontaneously and recorded on a two-track machine without subsequent overdubs. By this means Jan and Fabian could capture the inspiration and the energy of the here and now.
